If they're not hard-rubber-hard, fixed to the surrounding structures, growing preposterously, or super-painful, ignore them. Your best friends have them too. Life at your age is tough enough without worrying about the normally-palpable lymph nodes in your neck being hodgkin's -- if one of them it, it'll be obvious enough.

: The reactive lymph nodes are only tender and enlarged in the acute phase of the infection &amp; most of them go back to its original size and asymptomatic, i.e. not tender. However, some reactive lymph nodes do not regress, stay at a bigger size than usual after infection has resolved but they are not tender and do not enlarge again without an infection. Most people can feel submandibular lymph nodes.

Q: i feel a string of lymph nodes in both sides by "tail" of breasts.. how do i know if i'm feeling normal ones or swollen. if on both sides is that good?

Merits evaluation.: A breast surgeon or surgical oncologist would be the best authority to see for an opinion as to the nature of the lymph nodes. The breast exam and ones own history and family history come first; then a decision is made concerning the best imaging modality to clarify the findings.

: You probably mean the inguinal area (groin). (Pelvic nodes are inside the abdomen.) If quite large, like an inch or more in diameter, see a doctor. If smaller and remains nontender, maybe get it checked out if it persists a week or more. An STD may be possible, or a minor infection on the leg or foot. Cat scratch disease, if you own or exposed to a cat. Get checked ASAP if at risk for STD.

Watch and wait: If you do not have any symptoms you may watch and wait. You may feel the nodes every couple of weeks, if any of the lymph glands doubles in size, becomes painful, ulcerates, or other nodes become enlarged, or you develop fever, or lose weight, you should see a doctor.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. 
Get HPV vaccine

can straining on the toilet cause pelvic lymph nodes to swell?

: Lymph nodes become larger when they are activated to filter serum of debris. This is most often seen during immune activation and illness. I can find no plausible reason straining at the toilet would trigger lymph node swelling at any location.

Monitoring Centers: The lymphatic system absorbs and carries things too big to go into the arteries and veins like bacteria eaten by white cells and digested food.  The lymph nodes "taste" the lymph to see if anything bad is there like bacteria, viruses, cancers, etc.  When it detects a problem, it alerts the immune system and your body reacts.  They enlarge in response to the inflammation they create when they react.
