No way to tell : Unfortunately, dietary supplements are regulated as foods (as opposed to drugs).  As such, they are not required to undergo the same testing (or prove their claims to be true). Also, since no third party testing of their product is required - the ingredients listed don't even have to match what is in the bottle.  Wish I had a better answer ... Good luck!

Raniditine: If you're experiencing side effects and have only been taking it 4 days I would expect no serious adverse reactions except that the stomach will again secrete acids the first thing in the morning. You can block this secretion by taking a different class of acid blockers, called ppi's. Omeprezole is one such ppi and is available without prescription. Take it in the AM on an empty stomach.

INSOMNIA: Yes it can be but you have to tell which drugs are you taklng.Are these prescription drugs or street drugs.Several drugs can cause insomnia.

Many do: Many medications cause insomnia, too many to even begin to list here. Caffeine commonly causes insomnia as well. Check with your Doctor. There are physical and mental causes for insomnia. You first need an evaluation and diagnosis for your condition. Try and eliminate things that can contribute to insomnia. Try and avoid treatments for insomnia which can become habit forming. Not Unusual: Deexedrine can cause insomnia, especially if taken later in the day. Increased anxiety, irritability, and moodiness can also occur. Other physical seide effects include headaches, stomach complaints, and decreased appetitie.

Tolerance/withdrawal: Alprazolam (brand name xanax (alprazolam)) is a short-acting, non-sedating tranquilizer that is quite habit-forming.  Depending on dosage & duration of use, it may need to be decreased very gradually over weeks or even longer.  Sometimes xanax (alprazolam) is replaced with a similar drug that is easier to stop.  This is best discussed with the prescribing doctor, who may also offer other remedies for the insomnia.

i started on 5mg of lexapro and had increased anxiety and insomnia as side effects. i tried to increase to 10mg after 10 days on the 5mg but the anxiety got so bad i went back down to 5mg. is it possible that 5mg can be effective?

Change drugs: it is unlikely that these side effects will all go away, so I suggest telling your prescribing doc about these effects, so you can be safely switched.
