can you get mouth ulcers on your lip? i believe i have one on my bottom lip. it is not a cold sore as i do not get them and there are no clusters of blisters. if so, what can i do to get rid of it as it isnt inside my lip but on the outside? thanks?

Aphthous stomatitis: Could be aphthous stomatitis. see dermatologist to confirm. Occasionally, a herpetic lesion may present like this also.

Itchy mouth: This is impossible to diagnose accurately without a clinical exam and thorough medical history.  It sounds like you have either a viral infection, or an allergic reaction to something ingested or touched to your face.
Viral infection usually heals in 7-10 days. 
To be certain, see your medical doctor for an examination. If it is an allergy, it is very important to learn what you are allergic to.

Best:  Stay Healthy: If it is a viral/herpes type ulcer, it will just take time to go away.  Staying healthy so you can heal quickly will help.  In the mean time, paliative treatments (make it more comfortable) such as zilactin, oragel may help.

How do you know?: Are you sure it is just an ulcer and not an infection? Mouth ulcers, commonly called canker sores, heal in about a week and do not spread. An infection can spread to other parts of your mouth. I recommend that you see a dentist as soon as possible.

May be: Go to see your gp to get checked. Anybody in the family who has colon cancer? Or other malignancy or autoimmune problems? Acertain condition can cause oral ulcers frequently like behcet's, lupus or orther autoimmune. Other condition can give you malanotic macule on lips like peutz-jeghers syndrome, addison's disease, mccune-albright syndrome etc. Go to see gp and get further eval and discussion.

Lip bubble: A raised area on the inside of your lip that is clear looking and bubble like is most commonly an obstructed minor saliva gland duct. This occurs from food abrasion and eating trauma to the lip. When crushed the duct can no longer release fluid to the mouth. The fluid backs up and creates the bubble appearance. If small no treatment is needed. Larger ones, 4mm, or more do.

Warm salt water: Time: 10 - 14 days, and warm salt water is about all you can do for healing. Avoid putting numbing medicine on it too much as it may slow the healing or make it numb so you traumatize it even further, or cause a chemical irritation. Good Luck.
