are there any alternative to using warm salty water rinse  for htn patients to avoid salty taste mouth and the  additional  sodium. ?

Peroxide and water: This is the time of year for sore throats and colds, so i assume you are gargling with salt water to alleviate the symptoms. Mix water and peroxide half and half and gargle with that instead, then spit it out.

when i eat salt in solid form like on french fries, it makes sores on the roof of my mouth. foods high in sodium dry out my mouth. is this an allergy?

No: Reaction to salt in the mouth is an irritant and i suspect that you are prone to have canker sores in the first place  
too much salt causes one to feel thirsty since the body needs more water to establish a new balance.  As anyone knows, thirst occurs after one swallows a mouthful of seawater even when the body is adequately hydrated.  Do note that  too much salt intake is not good for your heal.

DIET: Possible  foods that contain lots of sodium   excess sweating.

i just used carifree ctx4 treatment rinse and now i'm foaming at the mouth and nauseated. is this normal? mixed rinse a - basically sodium benzoate and xylitol; with b - sodium hydroxide and bleach.

Accepted Answer

Toxic reaction: Sodium benzoate is not a good substance and sodium hydoxide and bleach iare very toxic because they release chlorine gas. Rinse your mouth out well,  get fresh air, and relax.  Never use it again.  Hydrogen peroxide diluted in  water and plain xylitol are safe. Look at your life style: sleep, diet, exercise and stress management to address your problems.

is it okay to drink water if my urine is clear? my mouth feels a little dry, but i don't want my sodium levels to drop.

Accepted Answer

Okay to drink: It's unlikely under normal circumstances to drop your sodium levels. We see this in folks who are sweating a lot, vomiting, or having diarrhea because they lose sodium this way. We also see this in folks who have diabetes insipidous, in which case they will pee a lot. If you are worried, you could always get a urine test at your doctor's office. Be well.

No: No, ear drops would not cause mouth symptoms.

No: It has no value.

i have not been able to get a flouride treatment due to the recent pandemic.  i am going to put sodium flouride powder into a mouth wash.  if i put too much in, can it hurt me?

Accepted Answer

Toothpaste...: .... and municipal water supplies already have fluoride in the appropriate concentrations. Dental offices have only been closed for
three months; mixing your own concoction is really inadvisable and not necessary. Brush with ADA seal of acceptance toothpaste and you'll get your topical fluoride application at your dentist's office.

my son 4jrs old by accident swallowed his mouthwash. he is use to using it but swallowed by accident tonight. the one for children.it does contain sodium fluoride . but he had about 10ml in his mouth perhaps even less.

Relax: I wouldn't make this a regular activity but it should not do any lasting harm. Four is a bit young for some kids to remember to spit out toothpaste &amp; mouthwash. I would consider not using it until he is older.

Strength of sodium h: Unlikely need  er - if he is not symptomatic- drooling or difficulty swallowing, stomach pain, wheezing or coughing would need evaluation immediately.
