Possibly: Ebv spreads through bodily fluids e.g. Saliva and blood. So if you share saliva or bodily fluids with your co-worker, you could infect them and pass those infections.

But most people aren't sharing bodily fluids with co-workers.

A lot of people have/get ebv aka mono. Most of us will get it before we die. Thus, perhaps your co-worker already had it or got it from someone else).

See a doctor: Most oral symptoms that people think are yeast in fact have other causes. For example, white coated tongue usually is not yeast; and neither this nor true yeast infection is necessarily evidence of immune defieicncy. Infection with staph, including MRSA, also is not a sign of immune deficiency, and neither is intestingal discomfort or increased gas. See a doctor if you remain concerned.

See a Immunologist: Despite all the awareness with aids, primary non-aids immune deficiency is not that uncommon.  Best bet is to contact immune deficiency foundation for a doctor near you.

my lymph nodes and tonsils became tender/swollen about a month and a half ago. i was given augmentin to help reduce swelling and treat an infection if i had one. the antibiotic did not help. i have a history of mono (about 12 years ago)?

: Augmentin should eradicate a strep infection. Since your symptoms persist a viral infection is likely. A second bout of mono is rare but can occur.  I recommend a throat culture&amp; sensitivity, mono test &amp; a cbc&amp; differential white blood cell count or you could consult an ENT specialist &amp; let him/her order the appropriate testing and advise you.

Chronic irritation: of the back of the throat can cause cobblestoning and swollen tonsils.  This can be related to throat infections,  post nasal drip from allergies or sinusitis or recurrent acid reflux.  There are other viral infections in addition to mono that can have a somewhat prolonged course and do not respond to antibiotics. Have you had cultures to ID bacteria?  Your FP may refer to ENT or Allergist.

: I assume you're not dealing with herpes tonsillitis.  Low lymphocyte count is evidence against active mononucleosis. If you haven't been evaluated by an oral surgeon, consult one. Can't really say: Every case of mono is different so it is impossible to tell you how long it will last.  Make sure you are  following your doctor's recommendation and getting sufficient rest.

Cleaners: Use cleaners or detergents and disinfectants on surfaces which are likely to contact uncovered or poorly covered infections.  Detergent-based cleaners or Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)-registered disinfectants are effective at removing MRSA from the environment. Focus on surfaces which come in contact with people’s bare skin each day. Also clean your hands regularly.
