Get it checked out: Moles should not be painful. A hard lump underneath the skin may be due to a deep component of the mole, but it is hard to say without seeing and examining. A dermatologist can examine both the mole and the underlying lump to give you an accurate diagnosis.

i've had a mole on my cheek as long as i can remember, but a few weeks ago it felt as tho a spot was directly under. it feels like a harder lump now.

Biopsy: A mole that is changing needs pathology examination of the biopsy.  If the doctor thinks the mole is benign, he or she may excise part of the mole, all of the mole, or all of the mole plus some of the normal appearing tissue around it.  If the mole appears cancerous, the doctor will usually remove the mole plus some surrounding tissue. Consider a plastic surgery consult. It is your face.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor. It may be necessary to remove the lesion and submit the tissue to a pathologist for evaluation.

Bump: It is not possible to make a diagnosis without examining the lump. It could be a dermatofibroma. However strange things often show up on people and sometimes it is necessary to biopsy a spot to know what is causing it.  See your doctor or dermatologist  to have it evaluated.

i have a mole at the base of my neck and more recently i have discovered a lump under the skin in the area of the mole it is a hard lump but i can move it under the skin by applying pressure with my finger should i be concerned ?

Yes: If the mole has changed character it should be removed and evaluated for melanoma. Melanomas typically spread to adjecent lymph nodes. The lump will need to be removed also. The odds are that all will be benign.

Acne?: Most common finding will be an inflamed acne cyst or nodule. A dermatologist will diagnose and treat this.
