Accepted Answer

No: If this were possible, there would be a lot of meningitis. The common molds you meet daily aren't really pathogens, especially for those with reasonable immunity.

could eating mold over two weeks ago cause my asthma to act up?

Accepted Answer

Don't Think So: Eaten 2 weeks ago and asthma symptoms flaring up now?  Do not think so. Have you been allergy tested?  Do you know what you are allergic too?  Do you know what your asthma triggers are? Obviously allergen and trigger avoidance key, but not always possible.  Do you monitor peak flows? Do you have asthma action plan in place?  I hope so. is eating mold during pregnancy risky? i was in bed for a month due to bleeding and couldnt clean, i found out in my fridge many products had mold, i washed food before eating but is it enough and does mold spread to other food? should i throw all?

Need more info: You should not eat obviously moldy food. There are other organisms also growing in addition to mold. You should throw out the food that you suspect of being spoilt. Cooking the food would obviate some of the potential harm.
Have a healthy diet, exercise 30 minutes/day, drink plenty of water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

i am afraid that i have black mold on my fridge...eating something with mold can cause me severe harm like brain damage? can i change as a person?

Unlikely: In general, one should avoid eating spoiled food.  On the other hand, it will take a massive dose of molds( 10,000 or more x) to  even potentially for mycotoxin to cause any damage.  If you have any symptoms, they are more likely from something else in the spoiled foods and not from the molds.

what are the causes of eating doughnut with mold?

Poor eyesight?: Someone might eat a doughnut with mold, if s/he cannot see it has mold on it.  The person might also have poor judgment about what's safe or desirable to consume.  Some -- such as elderly people with dementia -- might not realize food has been in their refrigerators or cupboards too long.  They need help from others to keep edible foods available and accessible.

Why???: Mold usually grows on food or drinks that are spoiled so why would you eat them.....

Mold on turkey: You will probably survive to eat turkey another day. Leaving turkey out and eating it with salmonella on it is much worse. There are cheeses with mold like blue cheese. Penicillin is mold. If you experience nausea, diarrhea, wheezing, or breathing problems, seek help.

i was eating some strawberries when i noticed that one strawberry out of the container had mold. is it ok if i ate the non-moldy ones? 33 weeks preg.

Should be just fine: Fortunately, our stomach acid is a great first line defense against many of the things we encounter (often unknowingly) in our foods.  The amount, if any, of the mold you ingested will likely bring no harm to you or your fetus.  However, vomiting, diarrhea or cramping should prompt a call to your OB/gyn.

:  Other than make you worry or maybe trigger some GI symptoms I don't think this is a problem. Consider the mold a different type of protein. You would only react negatively to it is allergic, and most are not.

Highly unlikely: Mold is everywhere and rarely cause health problems (with the exception of some allergy related issues).
Mold in extreme amounts (such as is formed in haylofts etc) may produce harmful toxins but incidental discovery of some mold in a piece of food is NOT going to "harm your brain"!
