Atelectasis: Atelectasis is an area of lung that doesn't expand during a deep breath. It may be a remnant of a prior inflammatory process like bronchopneumonia. Since you have a minimal finding with the rest of the lungs being normal, it doesn't appear to be serious. Your physician or a pulmonologist could advise you best,however.

Poor inspiration: Probably related to a poor inspiratory effort when the radiograph was taken. Often times if people are in pain or are obese they cannot take a big breath (which would expand the lungs and give a better look to the radiologist) so what we see are low lung volumes and small areas of collapsed lung - all told it is usually not a sign of anything. Sometimes atelectasis can cause a fever.

Active lifestyle: I would consider an evaluation of your immune system if the two prior pneumonias were significant (ie hospitalized or required IV antibiotics), or if you have had other infections.  Consider an evaluation of your lungs, as there may be a structural abnormality which is contributing to your lung issues. An active lifestyle will help prevent atelectasis.

linear atelectasis: Lung collapse/atelectasis can occur for many reasons asthmatics get collapse because of mucus plugs in the airway.Sometimes aspiration  causes atelectasis. Infection and tumor can produce atelectasis. Ateletasis can clear following disappearance of disease process. Plate-like atelectasis is usually minor area of lung collapse sometimes seen without obvious cause or scar from previous disease.

OK: Lung tissue that is not inflated (/aerated) is atelectatic (or "deflated"). When it occurs, it often does so across a band or section of the lung, making it appear collapsed and sort of linear on chest xray. : It sounds like there wasn’t a full deep breath taken for this x-ray. So, at the bottom of the left lung there is a minimal white line on the x-Ray. This white line could be a non-expanded piece of lung (atelectasis) or a scar or just the technique of the film. If there is concern, a CAT scan of the chest could be obtained and a lung doctor seen.
