Pain: Pain in arches of feet, pain along sides of ankle.  In advanced cases pain can come from arthritic joints in the foot.

my 34 months boy seems to have flat feet, he has no arch his father has the same condition and also me but mine is mild, is there anything i can do ?

No: Most children will have some degree of what is known as a flexible flatfoot.  This is primarily related to ligamentois laxity and some will grow out of it.  Years age, orthotics or special shoes were used, but they have no affect on the natural history of the condition; so unless the child is having pain and/or a pressure site, we usually do nothing( if they do, they should be checked).

Marfan: Yes you can have Marfan based on several different criteria but Ehlers is different

The problem that : One worries about is that the deformity doesn't become rigid. A flexible flatfoot is treated with orthotics or surgically a subtalar implant works great. But, once the deformity is rigid it is very Difficult to treat.

Orthotics: Flat Feet or Pes Valgo Planus causes the arch to internally and medially rotate while weight-bearing.  This causes improper pull of the muscles and tendons in the feet and ankles.  This can lead to hammertoes, bunions, heel spurs ect...  I recommend a Biomechanically controlling orthotic device to control abnormal motion.  See your local Podiatrist to evaluate and treat your condition.

can you suddenly get flat? when i entered the military after about 2 months they said my was pes planus was the cause of my foot pain. again, can my foot condition can that fast?

: The emergence of symptoms related to any structural problem of the feet would depend on the physical activity that led up to the pain. The change in your lifestyle going through basic could make this emerge.

Numb = nerve: Pes planus, or flat feet, can be normal in some people &amp; cause no problems. In others, it can cause issues. Numbness is not commonly linked to pes planus, but think nerve such as Morton's neuroma or referred nerve symptoms to the foot from the tarsal tunnel, lower leg or low back. Sorry: Sorry to hear that.  Most of those issues like leg length discrepancy can cause that type of pain over time.  Consider orthotics and following up with an orthopedic surgeon

Yes: If the feet are flexible then an orthotic will help.
If not flexible then surgery is the option.

It is more about the: Stability of the feet than whether the arch is high or low.  A low arched but stable foot is perfectly fine.  An unstable arch is one that flattens out too much when bearing weight.  The instability can lead to a number of problems such as bunions, hammertoes, plantar fasciitis/heel spur, achilles tendonitis and more.
