Unknown: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is something that is usually inherited, therefore if dad has it, it is likely the child may have it.  However, each person needs to be evaluated individually.  You might suggest to your friend that they take their child to their pediatrician to be evaluated.  By the way, most pediatricians evaluate a child for adhd with questionnaires.

All that wiggles is : not just ADHD, although that's a possibility, especially with genetic loading, Anxiety Disorders, chaotic home environment, sleep apnea, inadequate consolidated sleep from a behavior disorder, prenatal exposure to alcohol, tobacco &amp;/or drugs, neurodevelopmental disorders with ADHD as part of the neurobehavioral profile. Behavioral symptoms require diagnostic evaluation to determine treatment plan.

Hyperactivity causes: Any substance that causes central nervous system to be exessively stimulant ,sugars in excess,also medications that have stimulant effects.food allergies are also known to be a causative factor ,if suspected food allergy testing will be helpful.
