i'm taking lactare tab for increasing breast milk thrice daily for past one month.now 8 week old baby develops mild cough with fever at night.fever subsides in morning but making noises in sleep and showing discomfort.was this due to tablet?

: You should consult your pediatrician about the baby's symptoms. Lactare contains multiple herbs and, as usual, scientific studies are lacking, but it is unlikely that they have anything to do with the symptoms. The benefit of lactare is arguable and you could stop it for a while to make sure it has no effect on the baby, and you may also find that your milk production is unchanged.

Watch hydration: A mouth ulcer in a baby can be a serious illness. The initial exposure to herpes virus, for example,  can produce significant symptoms including dehydration because swallowing can be quite painful. If you sense any of these issues, be sure to get to a pediatrician ASAP.

No specific meds: There are NO GOOD  medicines for Covid-19. The studies very clearly show they don't work and can have undesirable side effects. Try some honey in tea, warm showers and a humidifier. However, if you are feeling bad because of fever, then acetaminophen and ibuprofen work equally as well. Cough medicines are really just a waste of money , usually not helpful. Rest, fluids and time are your best meds.

hello, my husband was diagnosed with covid-19 this week. he is isolating from us in the house. i have a mild cough which started prior to his diagnosis and it's improving. hence i doubt it's associated. do i need to get tested at this point or wait?

COVID 19: In South Africa- one consults with a medical provider who will determine need for COVID 19 testing.  Consult your local primary care provider or you can use telemedicine for individual consultations. You could have had a mild case of COVID 19 that even preceded your husband's diagnosis. I would quarantine. You may or may not be approved for testing.

Go see your doctor: Cough is often a symptom of poorly controlled asthma so if you're coughing regularly, you need better control of your asthma. You didn't list any medications so you need to go see your doctor. I don't know about india but in states, we recommend inhaled corticosteroids & long acting beta agonists to prevent asthma attacks & short acting beta agonists as rescue agents. Leukotriene inhibitors, too.
