Thus, information on your child's past and present health, previous surgeries, family history (especially any problems with surgery or anesthesia), reactions to medications, recent illness and general consents to the procedure are all things that need to be completed. In addition, there will be papers regarding insurance.

But in general, if you had an arthroscopic distal clavicle resection that did not require any associated repair of a torn rotator cuff or ligamentous structure, 10/24 days would be average for return to modified duty; sooner if not too sore.

Hydrocele medication: Your surgeon will give you pain medication to take as needed after the operation.  He/she will decide if you need any antibiotcs.  Many patients do not, but sometimes antibiotics are given if the surgeon decides to leave a drain in for a day or two to limit swelling.  You will also likely have a scrotal support.  You will be given a full list of intructions with prescriptions after your operation.

This depends on: The type of surgery you are having. Sometimes just basic pain medications, such as opioid based pills like Percocet can be effective pain control. If the surgery is more invasive, you may need anything from patient controlled analgesia or timed IV medications like morphine or dilaudid. Your surgical team will most likely make sure your pain is controlled effectively, but let them know if they dont.
