Metoprolol: Most drugs in the class of beta blocker can alleviate few symptoms of anxiety or social phobia.  But proponolol (inderal) is the drug of choice among beta blockers, to treat such conditions.

hello, i am 16 and was pescribed "metoprolol tartrate" due to having panic attacks etc and to fix my heart ryhtm but today i took around 125mg to prevent a panic attack (not all at once) will i be ok?

100-450 mg. = dose : range of Lopressor (metoprolol tartrate) for hypertension. Lower doses of beta blockers are are given for fear of public speaking &amp; a few other phobias &amp; anxiety disorders. Have someone drive you to get your blood pressure checked, as it'll be low if it's normal off Lopressor (metoprolol tartrate). Talk to your doctor about med management, see a psychologist for Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy &amp; avow never to self-medicate again!

i have hbp and what to get something to help me sleep . my sleeping is terrible.i may sleep 3-5 hours a night . tried eatables although the next day i felt awesome , the night of was terrible , i had a panic attack . i take metoprolol?

Before treating: There is the risk of overtreating. Sleep hygiene along with a sleep study may be needed as high blood pressure is common in patients with sleep apnea. MM edibles may help with sleep, but you developed a relatively rare side effect ( panic attack) likely due to too much THC in the product. Your treating doc remains your best resource at this point as having access to your detailed medical history.

hi. i got panic attack 3 weeks ago. since then got7more. my blood test are ok. i take now calcium, magnesium and metoprolol. im affraid of another one?

Likely recurrent: Your label panic attack suggest that the uncomfortable symptoms of respiratory, cardiac, sensory  ,etc will return. Unless there is a metabolic explanation for new onset symptoms- nl labs, most likely there is a below the conscious surface perceived powerful threat that is signaled with the autonomic nervous system engaged in your symptoms. Get a psychiatric and psychological evalulation.

NOT TYPICALLY : Metoprolol is a beta block which is an anti hypertensive drug class. Beta blockers can help with performance anxiety. There are a lot better medications for panic attacks that can be taken as needed like the benzodiazepines xanax (alprazolam) or ativan. If the attacks are frequent would really want to be more preemptive with treatment and medications.

i'm a 21 yr old female who was perscribed metotoprolol for a high hr due to panic attacks. now my hr can be high 40's low 50's at rest. is this ok?

Decrease dose: I might suggest you talk to your doc about lowering the dose of the metoprolol to see if that puts your heart rate in a more normal range (60-100). Or even do a trial off the medication and see if just the occasional Xanax (alprazolam) can control your anxiety symptoms.

i have athsma but could i take a beta blocker for driving test anxiety and panic attacks. no antidepressent medication has helped with this.

Might not help too: And may flare up your asthma which may increase your anxiety. You are on Symbicrt, which contains a long acting beta agonist, which isn't a  good combination with beta blockers, also your thyroid problem may be contributing to your anxiety. Confer with your psychiatrist/doctor and have a list of your medications for possible interactions/contraindications, other techniques may be helpful, goodluck

can i take lansoprazole dissolvable tablets for my stomach acid as well as propranolol beta blocker for my panic attacks, does there has to be an hour between taking them?

Should be OK: to take them together without a delay.  They are metabolized in different pathways and I haven't found any reference suggesting that there is an interaction between the two.

just started taking zoloft for panic disorder. while i wait for full effect am having panic attacks with high hr when i have to present/speak in meetings. is there adverse reaction with zoloft and propranolol? is another beta blocker better w/ zoloft?

: You should be fine with the propranolol and the Zoloft. Usually the propranolol dose for performance anxiety is fairly low and you take it as needed so do not know of any untoward side effect or problem.

could i overdose on this much and what times.should.i take these at?

Several B Blockers: Beta blockers are many, but Propranolol is the most commonly used in anxiety, it suppresses some of the physical symptoms  of anxiety, and in people where the cardiac component is a trigger for their panic, b blockers are very helpful. However they don't affect the cognitive component of anxiety.  To judge whether you may overdose on the dosage, we have to know what strength and which beta blocker?
