You can: But beware, this is a chance the combination could really irritate your stomach.  Make sure you take the motrin with food.  And let your doctor know if you are having stomach pain or nausea.

Methylprednisolone: Medrol (methylprednisolone) or Methylprednisolone is a steroid.  It will help with inflammation for a variety of conditions. There are a lot of side effects and precautions.  It helps decrease swelling.  It will suppress the immune system.   I have rereviewed the precautions for this drug and I am unable to find any concerns regarding sun exposure or tanning beds.  That isn't 100%, but it would suggest that it is rare.

Acetaminophen: Is better choice, avoid ibuprofen or any NSAID, while on Medrol, (methylprednisolone) both can increase stomach irritation and other problems, good luck

Prednisone: Yes Methylprednisolone can raise blood sugar as well as blood pressure .
Most physicians use this drug for short periods there by avoiding the long term side affects .
Ask you doctor about weaning off it as soon as possible.

Be careful: To much steroid over too long a time is not good for you (thus your question).  I would personally limit it to no more than once every 12 weeks.

Older meds: If it is still in the packaging from the factory  it is likely still good.   HOWEVER -  how it was stored (heat, moisture and time) all affect the potency of medications.    In a pinch   I would use it  -  at the very least if its lost its potency  - you may need a second course.   If there is a strong odor or the pills have disintegrated  - time for new pills. Not wise: You should not stop steroid without discussing it with your doctor.  THC will mess with your brain and is not likely to do you any good. You could end up losing on both counts.
