Metal fillings : Metal fililngs or metals in crowns can cause this.  Ask your dentist if replacing the small silver fillings in your mouth with white ones is advisable.  Larger filings may need to be replaced with crowns    there are crowns that do not have metal in them.

Bleeding/infection: Please call your Dentist for an examination ASAP.  Bad taste may be due to bleeding, infection, GERD, Meds, diet change, etc.

Could be: Swelling and metallic taste are indicative of infection.  2 things you can do to see if it's abscessed. Tap on the tooth, if it hurts more than tapping on your other teeth, you may have abscess.  Also, push on tooth like you are trying to push it up into the gum.  If it hurts, could be abscessed. If no responses to those tests, could just be gum abscess rather than tooth abscess. Dentist trip asap

Have your dentist restore that rotten tooth and any other dental issues you might have. Then, if your problem(s) persist, see your PCP.
