Not known: There is no standard treatment regimen.The first stage, when fat necrosis occurs, many physicians recommend no treatment. Individuals with no symptoms are not treated. Monitored to see whether the disorder progresses (watch and wait). In some cases, the disease may remain at this stage for years or even regress or go away on its own.

Inflammation : The fatty tissue that separate the loops of bowel is the mesentary. Trying not to get to complicated the blood supply can sometimes become compromised. Sometimes we do not know the exact cause. But it can hurt. Steroids can be of big help.

Several: Rash, irritation where skin overlaps, redness, may be sore to touch, often weeps (fluids). Best to clean often with sterile soap (like hibiclens), rinse, and dry. May use powders and cotton (like shirt tucked into fold to help 'wick' the perspiration. Often needs surgical removal such that overlap is gone.

See below: Ms. Amanda: Unfortunately there are no good tests for screening for pancreatic cancer. Lipase is not reliable and lumpy fat is a quack thing.

This is caused by the release of the pancreatic enzymes that digest fat.   Tumor eventually obstructs the duct completely to prevent digestive enzymes from being secreted resulting in steatorrhea.

The increased venous pressure causes the skin to look like an orange peel, swollen. The area is moist and warm, increases risk of skin infection/paniculitis. Best treatment is steady weight loss, keeping the area clean and dry, wound care if wounds develop, antibiotics for infection.
