Arthritis: Lateral meniscal tears are always a concern, but even more worrisome when arthritis is present. The tear could be incidental. Assess the joint space with standing straight, flexed views and assess alignment. Be very cautious when discussing the source of your pain and optimal treatment.

Meniscus - surgery: You are quoting detailed anatomy inside the knee, likely from an MRI report.  It describes a tear in the meniscus cartilage, which lines the inside of the knee so bones can glide against each other smoothly. had mri on knee  showed meniscal tear, tendentis, bursitis, benign lesion on cartilage. what is yr opinion on treatment? .

Depends on your main: symptoms. If knee is hurting and "gives way" when you walk, then a Scope surgery to get rid of the Meniscal tear; which also provides an opportunity to look at all other structures. Lesion on Cartilage, might look benign, But a biopsy could be done, to confirms it is Benign,
The bursitis/tendonitis, if still persists can be treated by the NSAIDs and PT/exercises, heat/cold packs etc.

Possibly: Chronic dehydration can affect cartilage, but it would have to be moderately severe, and for a few months.  That could result in a tear.

Physical therapy: First line treatment is conservative - physical therapy and anti-inflammatory meds.  Sometimes a brace will help.  Steroid injections into the knee also can help.  Lastly, arthroscopic surgery is indicated if conservative treatment has failed.

No: While there is no specific test for intercostal (rib) muscle tear, the specific area of pain can be targeted with intercostal nerve block . This pain is sharp and stabbing, and may radiate from the back to the front of the chest wall. In addition, a good manual therapist should evaluate rib motion. Your wife may have a rib motion dysfunction, which can occur on inhalation or exhalation.

how long can a minor cartilage tear in my knee take to heal?

Depends...: The definition of mild is very subjective.... Many tears or injuries to the meniscus or cartilage disk in the knee will not cause severe symptoms for more than a few weeks.  The tears may or may not heal.. But even if the tear does not heal, it may not hurt!  we do not treat MRI findings, we treat patients... Therefore your surgeon should guide treatment recommendations based on your symptoms.

my knee is very sore. feels like cartilage tear or something's not right in there! is anything i can do to take this pain away?

Yes of course.: FIRST I NEED TO ASK if you did hurt it or twisted your knees in any way.
if you did not, with your young age you might need to be tested for rheumatoid arthritis  .pain in the knee could be more than pain in the knee so please see your Doctor for that.
last you can take ibuprofen 400-600 mg every six hour with food to take care of the pain.

can a cortisone injection and splint heal a cartilage tear in the wrist (tfcc)?

Tfcc tears can be : Treated with a splint and a cortisone injection and this may help for months and years. Technically the only thing you can do to fix a tfcc tear is to have arthroscopic wrist surgery but this isn't always necessary.

knee not back to normal in 3 weeks after drain/shot may mean a cartilage tear per md.  drain/shot caused this? i did nothing. i am not paying for mri.

Usually not. . .: If the drainage procedure was not traumatic ie bloody nor painful, it is highly unlikely the procedure caused you any negative effect. Commonly when a steroid injection fails to resolve the issue some other underlying cause such as an internal derangement of the joint or some systemic issue is producing the symptoms. Laboratory evaluation of the joint fluid may point to some underlying condition.
