Many options: First, optimize sleep, exercise and nutrition, including healthy fats, omega 3's, b vitamins and mitochondrial support.  Avoid stress, learn relaxation techniques and then there are many sources for exercising brain, like lumosity site, or sites that give tips on memory enhancing tips.  There are many.  Try learning new skills along with new information.

Pay attention: Memory is closely tied to attention.  Train yourself to focus on what you want to remember  and ignore other interesting details. Rehearse/repeat what you have observed so it will transfer from short-term to long term memory.  We have better memory for things that interest us and that we understand.  Read about mnemonics.  There are lots of "how to improve your memory" books that can be helpful.

Yes: Cognitive issues are common with lyrica (pregabalin). They quickly resolve if the med is stopped and may also resolve if your daily dose is lowered. Speak with the doctor who prescribes it.

Hypotension?: Differential diagnosis would be blood pressure drop on standing resulting in passing out or seizures. Either way needs workup to r/o cardiac , neuro causes.

Alzheimers: Mild cognitive impairment is a label for the earliest memory or cognitive loss.  Memory loss may occur initially in alzheimer's, organizational skill loss may occur early in other dementias, such as lewy body, and these are varieties of mci.   Prodromal alzheimer's is now preferred term.  Still use mci to denote early symptoms which lead to diagnosis.

Think about how much you have seen and heard today, and how much real detail you can't remember!   often our memories are constructed from our thoughts, dreams, and intentions in addition to "real" experiences. Since expected memory levels depend on age, and your normal abilities, simple screenings often miss decline in intelligent individuals.

If your primary care or neurologist has not determined the cause &amp; you have  no history of tumor, trauma or infection that affected your brain, a neuropsychological evaluation will define the type(s) of memory loss &amp; any associated neuro-cognitive impairments &amp; recommend  therapy options &amp; mnemonic, or memory, aids.

It may, therefore,  be difficult for a person whose neuropsychological function in short-term, active-working &amp; long-term memory is intact. A neuropsychological exam can define the area of impairment.
