Event monitor : Skipped beats can come from the top chamber called atrial or the bottom chamber of the heart called ventricular. Ask your doctor for event monitor that can detect the skipped beats and help him or her to address therapy.

psychiatrist stopped my celexa 20mg about 12 days ago suddenly after 15 years. he started me on zoloft 40mg the next day. it was awful until day five i felt better but heart rate and bp began to increase 15-25  points syst previous control on meds?

Serotonin mishap?: A more gradual taper of the Celexa may have been easier to tolerate.  Shouldering one gradually down and the other up usually works better, i.e., Celexa down to 10, and more gradual increase/addition of Zoloft,  25 for 10 days then stop Celexa and increase Zoloft to 50.
After that many years and abrupt cessation you may be experiencing serotonin discontinuation from the Celexa - despite the Zoloft

i suddenly started having an increased heart rate with chest pains and shortness of breath. no clots, and not caused by meds? what could cause this?

3 letters: SVT: Very common in your age group for these symptoms is svt, a rhythm condition in which the heart suddenly races. Switches on/off. Called supraventricular tachycardia, rates up to 180-210 beats per minute sometimes seen.  It can be hard to catch: needs to be seen on an ECG for diagnosis. Best test is a 30 day event recorder, a device you lease for a month and which can be switched on when occurs.

my doctor prescribed azithromycin to treat my balanitis . because of side effect (increased heart rate) , the drug is now replaced by clarithromycin. how long should i wait to start taking clarithromycin after stop taking azithromycin?

: Right after your heart rate is normal. Also pl ask for instructions from your MD and have all your questions answered wjhen you see an MD this avoids apprehension and guess work.

Unlikely: I am not aware of such a drug. I am not sure why you might want this . There is not a specific way to do this and many drugs are able to cross the blood brain barrier. See your doctor if you have any symptoms you cannot complain.

cant find blood preesure meds to agree took toprol (metoprolol) xl, cardizem , lisinpril  getting frustrated taking 5mg norvasc but it cause heart rate to raise , ?

Agree with what?: Are you having drug interactions? What other side effects?

Many people who can find no class of medication to treat their problem, often are not experiencing side effects of the medication, but anticipation of trouble as result of anxiety.  Ace inhibitors (lisinopril) are very well tolerated, but if side effect, arb is good option.  Norvasc (amlodipine) (dhp-ccb) is also well tolerated, with few side effects.

on nicotine gum for over 1 yr. started having uncomfortable fast heart rate lasting up to an hour & increased bp. quit gum 5 days ago. been monitoring bp & hr. have been great. no meds. today, resting hr is 57 & 58. is that to low? work at desk job?

: Always double check pulse by counting at wrist for 60 seconds to validate your pulseometer. I would not use the gum this long. Discuss with Dr.

Maybe: There is a natural variation in heart rates that can be affected by physical or emotional factors, but if other symptoms occur - lightheaded, short of breath, pain, seek other input.
