Aldosteronism: Main effect is elevated blood pressure that is difficult to control. Concentration problem could be associated with it, or the effect of blood pressure medications, or other factors. Please review with your doctor.

Need more info: Hypertension is a common disorder and the usual treatment with diuretic can cause hypokalemia. You may wish to get a second opinion, if you have any doubts, though hypertension due to tumors of the renin producing cells are uncommon.

whenever i had an episode of afib,pacs or pvcs and went to er my k was low 2.9,3.2,3.4,3.5. i also have controlled hypertension. is primary aldosteronism possible cause of afib? also, is paroxysmal afib caused by primary aldosteronism reversible?

: Primary hyperaldosteronism doesn't directly cause cardiac arrhythmias but the hypokalemia ( low potassium) it causes can aggravate any tendency one has for both atrial and ventricular irritability. Are you taking an aldosterone blocking medication like spironolactone medication which will improve potassium levels?  A cardiologist can advise you about the options for the reversal of your A Fib.

Irritability: Such irritability may be due to low potassium,low magnesium,low calcium and a blood test should be done to check for these especially if the twitching is in scattered areas. However if the twitching is localized only ,it may simply be an irritable muscle or nerve that will eventually quiet down. Discuss this with your Physician.

IED: Generally, ied, intermittent explosive disorder, is a syndrome with several causes. Your son has a condition prone to ied. Meds that help include beta blockers, anticonvulsants/mood stabilizers/ and  antipsychotics or benzodiazepines. They all are effective in the right patient. Work with his md to figure out particular triggers, that will guide drug selection. Low blood sugar may be an issue, too.

Minor with dtugs: The primary care has an obligation to tell parents of the addiction and a duty to refer to a board certfied child psychiatrist. The ultimate responsibility for treatment are the parents. Parents need to be prepared that minors will use guilt to prevent treatment. Its not an easy choice for a parent.
