Define & use natural: If your baby is having firm stools that are hard to pass, i accept the issue as constipation.If breast fed, stooling less often& skipping days i would leave it alone if still soft. A vasaline coated q-tip can be manipulated just inside the anus & help a hardened glob pass.  I've had success with undiluted prune or apple juice, 1oz once or twice daily.Water may also help

Be cautious!: Austrolax derives from india. It's advertised contents include: bael 0.5gm, isabgol 1.6gm, senna 0.6gm, amla 0.6gm. Binders, flavors, colors and preservatives. Do you trust your unborn baby's health to this product?  As with any medication taken during pregnancy, i'd be very cautious.  Instead i urge you to discuss safe and doctor-approved options with your gynecologist.

Constipation: Increase fiber in the baby's diet. In this age group, babyfood prunes, prune juice and/or pear juice would all be helpful. Short-term relief of discomfort passing hard stools can be had with glycerin suppositories (pedialax) while waiting for the increased fiber to speed up colonic filling and subsequent quicker emptying which results in moister, softer stools.
