The : The dark urine should not be related to the hiatal hernia or prescription drugs.  Dark urine for four months should be evaluated.  It could be related to a liver or a kidney issue, so seeing a physician would be a reasonable next step.

Surgery: I assume a groin hernia? There really aren't any medications for hernias.  If you are having pain the hernia should be repaired.  If you are referring to post-op pain (because you've already had surgery) and you are well out of the post op 4-6 weeks, you should talk to your surgeon about possible nerve involvement. Does that help?

One option: Alexis, surgery is an option, however you must weigh the risks and potential complications of undergoing surgery before proceeding. A 2cm hiatal hernia can certainly cause problems with eating, you certainly need to rule out other GI issues before having an operation that is irreversible. Continue working with your GI doctor, or ask for a referral to an esophageal specialist first to be sure.

Need help for ED: You have a complex medical history. This needs to be reviewed by your primary care physician or a urologist. You may well be a candidate for medication, however need first to consult with the above. Above all avoid internet offers for viagra (sildenafil) or cialis, meds may be fakes or even dangerous. Real thing may be ok after above consultation.

Yes and no...: No drug is perfect, &amp; pros of long term use of acid blockade need to balance against cons (bone fractures, low magnesium, C.difficile infection). H2 blockers (tagamet, zantac, (ranitidine) pepcid) have been around since the late 70's, are safe, but may require increasing doses to achieve acid suppression. Proton pump inhibitors (ppi's) are also generally safe, but talk to your doc about lowest effective dose.

Maybe just heartburn: ...But atypical chest pain especially in middle aged women is nothing to ignore. The potential origins may include: heart, lungs, mediastinum, esophagus (due to dysmotility disorders, gastroparesis, biliary/pancreatic trouble, and/or non-acid reflux), musculoskeletal, pericardium (sac around the heart), pleuritis, bronchiitis, or referred pain from a remote site. Further evaluation is warranted.

See a Urologist: It is very unlikely that the hernia operation has anything to do with your feelings after ejaculation.  A urologist may be able to treat this with medication and can also check to see if you have another hernia, but a recurrent hernia is unlikely in a young person just a few years later.

Almost: Zero. Unless the surgery is being performed due to some type or emergency or bowel strangulation, or if there are multiple underlying severe medical problems, the risk to one's life for hernia surgery would be near zero risk. Ask your own surgeon & anesthesiologist your risk category.

Hernia: Groin hernias care common in men. Has he had the hernia examined? What is it that makes you say the hernia is bad? Painful? Large? It is rare to have an emergency from a hernia such as strangulated hernia, but rare things can happen especially if hernia is large. Find a clinic or doctor where he can have an examination. If bad pain go to an er where he can be evaluated.
