Work on anxiety: Betapace=sotalol is used for arrythmias insead of BP. I suggest Cognitive Behavioral Therapy along with with mindfulness training for the anxiety. There are beta blockers that are more effective for BP and can help with atrial tachycardia, but ultimately you should have this discussion with your cardiologist.  Cozaar (losartan) max dose is 100mg daily, so this could be adjusted if you are on lower dose.

The combination of Betapace (sotalol) and Zoloft can prolong Qt interval which increases the risk of cardiac arrhythmia. The risk of an individual or combination of drugs is not predictable and depends on factors such as heart disease, electrolytes and drug dosage.

CBT psychotherapy: Try CBT. The C will help your thinking and understanding - the B means guided Behavioral practice and it is critical. The T means therapy. After a course of treatment, your therapist might think that you've advanced enough to try it on your own and just return for boosters if needed. These are real skills to acquire. Try it for real. It may lower your need for meds.

BP control: Be aware that it is not unusual to be on 2-3 different blood pressure medicines to achieve a good BP control. 75% of North Americans with hypertension take  3 BP meds max dose!  And low salt diet is crucial for BP control, so if you are following a low salt diet and still your BP is high, consult your physician to add a second agent (diuretics maybe?).

does lexapro (escitalopram) prolong qt only in high doses?  i take very low dose betapace and wanted to try lexapro (escitalopram) for anxiety/depression.   tried other ssris.

3rd try: Please have an EKG done on the combination to determine FOR YOU if your QT is prolonged.  We're all different. One person won't have QT prolongation and another will on the same dose of medications.  Really. Please believe me.
