Hypochondria?: There are a few possibilities, starting with hypochondria, unfounded worries of being sick or having a disease.  Some people complain for care or attention.  More severe would be an unshakeable conviction of something that is plainly untrue (ie, a delusion).  If your friend is open to psych evaluation, that might clear things up.

Medications???: Certain medications such as steroids,     antidepressants, antipsychotics, antiseizure medications, diabetes medications, high blood pressure medications, heartburn medications can interfere with weight loss or cause weight gain. I note you are on metformin and Phentermine which can both contribute and your Cytomel (liothyronine) indicates you have hypothyrodism, which may be under-treated.

Hypothyroidism: One quick one would be under active thyroid. Thyroid hormones help regulate metabolism, so if at a low level - weight gain can occur. Go to your pcp and get the levels (tsh and t4) checked.

THere are : No pros, since the HCG would be illegal, expensive and obtained on the black market, since there's no medical indication for weight loss -- because it doesn't work. Who knows what's in it or what toxins you could be putting in your body, or what harm it could do. Any other "hcg" doesn't contain any. Don't get your medical information from friends, tv or the internet.

Variable: Most are for profit, not to help you. There are some scientifically based high-quality centers. Most are connected to universities and are not for-profit franchises run by people with little or no training. Programs like weight watchers are usually cheaper and more reliable for the long term. Don't get your medical information from friends, tv or the internet. Don't believe in miracles.

Depends: On how much overweight you are.  On its own it is healthy to lose around 1-2 lbs per week.  I am a big proponent of the HCG diet when done under the supervision of a qualified physician and the original protocol for calories and doses.

Should not: The procedures don't cause weight changes, being pregnant may have been the cause of the weight gain (or loss, if the patient had bad nausea and wasn't eating).
