Good question: We really now very little about why some people get back pain and some do not. Despite hundreds of millions of dollars of research, we still are in the dark for many cases. There are litterally hundreds of theories about back pain, none of them proven. I could write a book about it.  The public believes that MRI pinpoints the problem but this is really not true.

None: Low back pain is a non-specific condition and is no more of a medical diagnosis than "knee pain" or "ankle pain." a reputable spine physician will perform an appropriate history, physical examination, and possibly imaging studies to identify the underlying cause of the pain. Once identified, an adequate diagnosis can be given.

Yes: It is very common to have back pain. 80 percent of the population will have back pain at one point in their life. If this is ongoing pain, i would recommend see an orthopedic spinal specialist.

Tough situation: I am sorry you have this pain. There are many options from chronic medication management to spinal cord stimulators. If possible, avoid further surgery. See an experienced pain interventionalist who can give injections around the hardware and this may help with some of the pain and they also may be able to do the stimulator trials. : Not fully clear if your problems might respond to medical marijuana.  (Cannabidiol tincture might be alternative approach with lack of being "stoned".)  Migraines can be prevented, but need to see a neurologist.  Back pain could respond to physical therapy.

Back : Back pain is very frustrating.  It can come on for no obvious reason and can be very persistent.  Six weeks is not unusual.  If you don't have a reason that you can't take nsaid's like advil, (ibuprofen) then you can try that.  Your exercises are a good idea.  You could see a physical therapist for treatment also.  However as your pain has lasted 6 weeks, please see your doctor again as you may need imaging now.  Describe the treatment you have been trying at home.  If you have increased pain, fever, weakness, numbness, or bowel/bladder control issues then you must be seen as an emergency.

Yes: Mid to lower back pain can be caused by pyelonephritis (kidney infection) &amp; bladder infections.

Guessing game: All too often, we deal with the symptoms and not the cause. If you just treat the symptoms you will at best get temporary relief. If you treat the cause, you can get rid of the problem and the symptoms
determine the cause, then based on the diagnosis you can help to develop a treatment plan.
Remember, without a diagnosis, its just a guessing game.
