Yes: Mid to lower back pain can be caused by pyelonephritis (kidney infection) & bladder infections.

Low back pain: In my experience low back pain is rarely caused by a urinary tract infection. An infected kidney is a serious problem usually accompanied by chills, fever, flank discomfort. Bladder infections cause burning on urination and not low back pain as a rule. If your urinalysis with microscopic examination, urine culture and colony count show a UTI, get appropriate treatment. See orthopedic as needed.
