Keppra (levetiracetam): Relax - the second dose was a mild mistake and if you simply keep one dose a day you will be fine. If you feel more comfortable not taking a dose of Keppra, (levetiracetam) for one day that's OK.

will cutting my dose of keppra in half cause problems? i am taking 750mg of keppra 2x a day. but, it has some really bad side effects and i would like to cut the dose in half by taking only 1 pill a day. i take it for zeizures.

I : I don't think it a good idea to reduce your dose without having a discussion with your prescribing physician. You would be in danger of setting off a seizure. You and your doctor can come up with some antiepileptic drug that works well and is better tolerated. Keppra (levetiracetam) is a drug that is often used to manage seizures and is usually well tolerated. Please see your doctor before you change your medications.

Should be fine: Keppra has a "half life" of about 18 hours, meaning that at that time, she is down to about half of the blood level.  For most people with seizures, missing a  single dose means the blood level is much lower than normal, but not completely out of her system by the time she gets her next dose.  Some people are very sensitive to this, and can have seizures with missing just one dose but that is rare

Lower dose: Keppra (levetiracetam) is usually given at 500 mg twice a day (1000mg total per day).  750 or even 1500 mg twice a day is very common as well.  Limiting factors are of course side effects.

: Definite caution is advised if you are taking Keppra because Phentermine can decrease seizure threshold and so alter your seizure control.

Levetiracetam is the generic which has to comply with fda  to be 100% +/- 20% of the milligram percentage of the active  name brand. There are countless different generic manufacturers...If you are worried about the generic potency d/w your doctor and probably get a blood level to see how your body absorbs the drug...
