Get checked.: Burning with urination is due to inflammation of the lower urinary tract. This has many causes, but the most common are related to infection. Sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhea & chlamydia are important causes. Urinary infections of the bladder or prostate also present with this symptom. Get evaluated as infections require treatment to clear & prevent spread.

See your primary Doc: A urinalysis would help in Dx. Sounds like an infection, but bladder tumors, trauma,  beginnings of prostatitis etc can only be ruled out or in by the Doc listening to your medical history.

Many possibilities: This sensation could be related to acute or chronic infection, urethral stricture, bladder stone, history of pelvic surgery or instrumentation, trauma, or other issue.  After history, physical exam and urinalysis post void urine volumes and cystoscopy should be able to identify oct worrisome etiologies for this symptom.

Maybe: Anybody who has a urinary tract (kidneys, ureters, bladder, urethra, +/- penis) can have a urinary tract infection. This happens to people every day, all over the world. A teen male is much less likely than a teen girl to get a UTI.  So, a teen male with possible UTI symptoms needs to see his doctor. Also, there are some less common medical disorders that cause UTI symptoms but are not infections.

Infection: The burning, the back pain and the urine test are all indicative of a urinary tract infection. It could be in the bladder, the prostate, or the kidney. They usually respond well to antibiotics. It would be best to get a urine culture to confirm the diagnosis. Once you have left the specimen, ask your doctor to order antibiotics and see if he can determine the source of the symptoms.

Burning: This may be from some skin irritation or irritable nerve endings or,if redness is present,low grade yeast infection may be present. See your Physician if symptoms persist or worsen.
