Maybe just bad luck: I would not call that a failure--you would not have gotten the degree, which in itself a success. The economy is still quite bad and many people have difficult time finding good jobs for their degrees. Also, the area you live/looking for employment may not be good at this time.  Sometime people will do something else just to get by while waiting for the right opportunity. So, chin up. Good luck!

Tumor risk: Some folks are born with a defective gene for one of the proteins that you need to maintain the rest of your genes.  Around 1 person in 200 is affected; most important is frequent colonoscopy, which greatly the changes of colon cancer (which develops very fast in these folks) spreading out of control.

No: Linea alba does not need to be repaired.  It's just a thickening of the cheek tissue that is being caught between your teeth when you eat or just naturally close your teeth together.  It is not a sign of illness and does not need to be removed, because it can come back because it's a result of trauma.

1/500 to 1/1000: Lynch syndrome is an inherited disorder that causes an increased risk for colorectal cancer, stomach, small intestine, liver, gallbladder ducts, upper urinary tract, brain, & skin. Women have high risk for ovarian & uterine cancer. In the usa there are 140, 000 new cases of colorectal cancer yearly; approximately 5 % of these cancers are caused by lynch syndrome.Cancer also happens at a younger age.

They do NOT: Have estrogen.  Market to women with "healthful incredients" include soy, could have phyto-estrogen effect, but in quantities too low. Go buy some m&m's and leave the luna bars alone.

: Both guidelines have been revised and there is general agreement that based on the finding of the MMR gene the revised Amercan may be better, It is best to follow your oncologists recommendation based on your individual situation

One disadvantage: I'll defer to  someone else on whether the linx is generally a good alternative to the nissen fundoplication, one note of caution:  people who have the linx device cannot have an mri.  Mri is becoming ever more common for imaging, as there is no radiation and great soft tissue detail.  This could potentially limit the ability to diagnose medical problems in the future.

Rare disease: Since this is very rare, most neurologists have never seen a case, and indeed I have referred my patients to neurosurgery in New York City area as needed. Check with medical schools there
