Inflammation / tumor: Inflammatory swelling often due to skin infection or cellulitis of lower limbs or genitalia or cat scratctch disease, can be related to stds such as chlamydia, gonrrhea etc..Also viral coditions eg mononucleosis & side effects of certain drugs. Various malignancies eg: leukemia, lymphoma or genital cancer. Should be checked out if swelling present or persists for more than about 3 weeks.

can varicocele cause swelling of lymph nodes in the groin?  varicocele is diagnosed, but lymph node swelling seems to accompany the pain.

Second look: Varicocele is not generally associated with enlarged lymph nodes. There may some thing else going on in the groin of lower extremity. It would be prudent to see your doctor for an in-person examination.

Musculoskeletal pain: There are no common conditions that cause pain in these areas. If you do not have fever, weight loss, bowel disturbance or breathing issues the problem is likely benign, not life threatening. Soreness in these areas may be due to muscle pain related to your job or activities. A trial of Tylenol or ibuprofen and a consult with a physician is reasonable.

Yes , possible: If you have ano-rectal infections  groin lymph nodes can get enlarged as anal canal drains to this area  from infections to the tumors , visit your doctor for check up

Yes, and several: Lymph nodes part of our immune defense system for virus, microorganisms & cancer. About 1% of blood plasma (water) which departs arterial-end of capillaries is not picked back up at venous-end, body wide. Lymph vessels return this excess water (& whatever is in the water) from around cells back into the blood stream. Lymph nodes, full of white blood cells, remove items/cells recognized not healthy.

Needs a full: Thorough exam . Could be an illness or something more serious. Go to doc right away for proper diagnosis and treatment

: "Swelling and unselling" is unlikely; there are no medical conditions that make lymph nodes repeatedly enlarge then get smaller again. Further, self assessment of lymph node enlargement is notoriously unreliable. If you are convinced about this issue, see a physician when you believe your nodes are swollen. In the meantime, it seems unlikely you have anything serious.
