Fluvoxamine/Luvox is not a protein but can cause side effects like sedation, weight gain, delayed sexual climax, decreased emotion or motivation along with beneficial effects. It would help to know what the  negative "allergic" reaction(s) is/are?

Controlled release: In february 2008, the fda approved an extended-release capsule of Luvox -- Luvox cr --  for the treatment of social anxiety disorder and obsessive compulsive disorder (ocd) in adults. It's the same basic medicine as Luvox (fluvoxamine) but longer acting.

: It is a SSRI and mainly used for OCD but it may be used for generalized anxiety disorder. Response to SSRI med varies a lot among people but for sure there is no bad news about this SSRI. Good luck with your treatment.

People who are treated for depression with medications like Luvox (fluvoxamine), (fluvoxamine) an SSRI, are also more likely to be diagnosed with diabetes than people who aren't.  However, it's not known whether Luvox (fluvoxamine) contributes to diabetes or if another factor common to both diabetes &amp; SSRI use is involved.  Regardless, you should get routine screening tests based on your age and other risk factors.

Doctor choice: I don&#x27;t know what the statistics are on the use of Luvox in obsessive compulsive disorder. I can tell you that in my practice is not the medication that i pick first-line. Mean reason for that is that the more effective of the two is Luvox cr which is not yet generic. I tend to pick the generic medications first if they have a good proven efficacy. I suspect in the us that either Prozac or zoloft (sertraline) would be the more frequently used medicationsin obsessive-compulsive disorder. I&#x27;m curious to hear what my colleagues have to say about this.
