You'd know: Anaphylaxis is caused by exposure to an antigen which elaborates an exaggerated response from the body. This results swelling of the airway tissues, blocking them, wheezing in the lungs and generalized body swelling. If it happened to you, you'd not forget it. It can be treated with Epinephrine and steroids which reduce the swelling.

EPIPEN (epinephrine) and 911: Anaphylactic shock is a medical emergency.  If an Epipen is available inject immediately. Then call 911.  The patients swells up, their airways close (from edema or swelling), they may start getting red (from hives and histamine release) etc.  Stay with the patient.  If recognized early may be able to have patient take some Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and/or Prednisone to ward off some of the disastrous reactions.

If cause known avoidance or in some treatment exists.

Yes, but: Kind of rare still, you need to avoid the medicine and cephalosporins for now, the diagnosis should be revised and analyzed, some detective work need to be performed to make sure that it was truly the ceftriaxone that caused the reaction and not something else. A note of allergies on the patient's chart should be flagged till sorted out, good luck
