Knowledge may help: If you of someone you know has had an anaphylactic reaction they can indeed very very scarey, but luckily the vast majority of people never have one. They can vary in severity from annoying to fatal. If you have a history of an allergic reaction that has been or might progress to anaphylaxis you should have injectable Epinephrine (epi-pen). If cause known avoidance or in some treatment exists.
