my granpa is diagnosed with a enhncing mass in left lung which is 8 cm in dia. and 7cm in length and is spreading toward liver n lymph nodes. pls help?

May be malignant: Lung masses, especially when associated with spread to lymph nodes, is almost definitely malignant (and serious).  He needs an immediate consult with a pulmonologist (lung doctor) and/or oncologist.  I biopsy needs to be done, and the treatment based on the results.  Don't delay.

Maybe sarcoidosis?: ..Usually a benign condition, but can cause lung or other organ scarring in a small % of patients.  It also sounds like you have a doctor, and for the complex situation you describe, you are better off asking questions of docs who know your history, than trying to figure it out online.  I tell my patients, use information from the internet to get the questions to ask your doc, not the answers.

have a 3cm ant mediastinum mass and 2 enlarged lymph nodes. can docs tell if it's lymphoma or thymoma? weight loss and bad cough as well.

Medistinal mass: No, doc can not give you histology diagnosis without a biopsy. 
Given your symptomatic medistinal mass, enlarged lymph nodes, and weight loss, you should see your doc to arrange a biopsy.

i have numerous lung nodules.  colon resection done 7/2011. cancer in mass and 2 lymph nodes.  new scan shows numerous nodles in both lungs (very small),  largest is a 7.0mm and too close to artery.  my cea is 5.6 and suv is 2.  what do u think?

Not great: If need to they might do pet scan otherwise its metastatic till otherwise proven.

Lymph nodes: Lymph nodes are normally present in the mediastinum.  We all have them.  Unless they are abnormally enlarged( and it sounds like yours aren't) they are probably of no concern.

Needs a medical chec: Any lump or growth in the body requires a medical check up in order to make sure that it is not a cancer. So I would advise you to get your father to go see his PCP for a medical check up and possibly some tests to define the nature of this mass.

It varies: Occasionally there are still cures with disease in the nodes. With today's treatments, survival is often measured in years. Cherish each day, and be aware of the eventual outcome in your life planning, but don't expect anyone to tell you 'How long'. It's simply not predictable.
