Accepted Answer

Yes: Any trauma to skin including sutures can cause pigmentation and scar formation. See a plastic surgeon if this bothers you.

i had skin cancer & stitches removed week ago on the side of my nose. it is slightly red & i have a little lump now. it doesn't hurt to touch it but i don't like the nose being this color & i definitely do not like the small lump. will both go away?

: You are fortunate to have had the cancer removed before it required a wider greatly difuguring treatment. It is too soon after the surgery to be able to assess the overall esthetic outcome, but you should definitely ask the surgeon who treated you for their assessment of the healing progrees. i had a laceration on my left calf in april 2019, was very deep, hospital just stitched the skin closed. area very sensitive and sometimes sore. have a lump above the laceration. which doctor is best to see for this, does it need to be repaired?

Rule out abscess : Please see your physician to determine if there is an abscess and need for antibiotics.
Monitor temperature and if there is no infection, scar tissue and traction of the wound may cause these symptoms.

hi. i had a bad accident in which my both lips got severe injury and i had got stitches inside my lips.now its been 2 weeks,stitches are dissolving but i've developed lumps inside my both lips and i cant even smile properly.are these lumps permanent?

: The lumps are likely a part of the healing process. As long as the lumps are getting smaller, you may watch and wait. If there is pain, discharge or ulceration, it would be prudent to see your doctor.
For healthy diet: http://www.choosemyplate.gov/., exercise 30 minutes/day, drink enough water daily so your urine is mostly colorless, have safe sex, no tobacco alcohol weed or street drugs.

my skin is growing over my stitches, they are prolene(non dissolving). should i be worried?

Accepted Answer

Not really.: It's common for skin to grow over sutures. It may make them a little more difficult to remove, and the area may have to be numbed up a bit in order to remove them, but it's nothing to be concerned about. You may wish to call your surgeon and ask if he/she wants to take the sutures out a bit sooner than planned.

can a dissolving stitch from a cesarean break lose and come through the skin?

Accepted Answer

Yes: It happens all the time, and in most cases it's nothing to worry about.  It can take several months for dissolvable sutures to dissolve completely.  Leave them alone if they don't bother you; but if they do, many obstetricians advise cutting them off at skin level.  Check with yours to be sure.

Post op pain: most likely a normal part of the healing process. If not improved with over the countret advilor aleve- call the doctor who performed the surgery.

See your DDS/surgeon: If the lumps did not go away in 3 weeks, it would be best if you visited a doctor in order to find out the cause.

10 wks post-circumcision & i've healed very well. only issue is some stitch puncture points have tiny lumps inside and are sore/itchy. is this normal?

Could be...: What you reported could be  a normally evolving and resolving healing process after your circumcision. So, you may wait and see as long as slowly but surely getting better day by day. If not, see the surgeon if stitch-related infection/inflammation emerges. Best wish...

the lower-left quadrant of my abdomen sticks out 5-10mm further than the right. no lumps or bumps, just a diffuse bulge. occasionally a little sore like a runner's side-stitch. i'm lean and feel healthy. should i see a doctor? worried it's a tumor.

See below: I doubt if it is cancer - you may have an inguinal hernia - very common-  During the covid crisis, I would go to see my doctor only if you have persistent pain - when you press on the area, does it disappear? If so it is probably a hernia - hang in there and make a routine doctors appointment -
