Ouch!: Could be scar tissue or just swollen from the traumatic incident.  Why don't you call your dentist and have him/her take a look just to make sure everything's ok.

Tongue lesion : Many small tongue lesions can be from biting the tongue, friction on teeth or dental work,  or thrusting the tongue on the  palate. It is still  advisable to see a doctor to  check the area.

Lump: Most likely it is a "traumatic fibroma" which is basically scar tissue built up from chronic trauma from the biting. You should still have it checked/biopsied to confirm. You can have it removed via a laser. It does have a reoccurrence possibility if the trauma persists and may need the same treatment years down the road, but it is important to have it checked.

Yes: A mouthguard is effective in preventing biting oral tissues while sleeping. The mouthguard covers the teeth in the upper or lower arch, or both. 
They can be custom made by a dentist or they can be obtained at a drug store or sporting goods store (athletic mouthguard). 
An exam by a dentist can help in deciding which one to use.

Tongue: Please see your dentist or oral surgeon for a diagnosis. In the alternative you may see your ent. Does not sound serious however it is annoying so please seek treatment.

Not necessarily: More info is needed as well as an exam. Please see your family physician. Could be anything from a habit to a malocclusion.

See your dentist: Biting your tongue while you sleep is not normal.  If the mouthguard you have is not helping prevent that, then you may need a new type of guard. Go see your dentist and discuss it with him.

Depends: Get checked out, and make sure there are no B vitamin deficiencies. Also make sure you do not have food sensitivities and have enough omega 3's.

Tongue: If you think you are having an allergic reaction to something, take a benadryl (diphenhydramine) and go to the ER. If its been going on for awhile, it may be that you are chewing on the sides of your tongue and cheeks. If thats the case, gargling and ibuprofen will help but you need to see your dentist
