TMJ: It could be acute arthritis of the temporomandibular joint.  Other possibilities include a lymph node or swelling of the parotid gland.

Get it checked: A large hard bump is suggestive of an abscess from an upper tooth. Confirmation is done with the biomarker l-homocysteine which measures the presence of infection.  The constituents of the infection can be identified and if the tooth in question possesses the same pathogens as the lump in the cheek, then one can confirm that the tooth infection is the etiologic cause for the the bump.
