Accepted Answer

No: I don't think so. I think you need to use different technology to determine particle size.  I believe the electrophoresis is only going to give LDL, HDL and VLDL concentration.  You could check with the lab your doctor has sent you to to confirm this.

confused by lipids - 132 total chol (good), 32 hdl (low), 101 trig (good), 80 ldl (good), 100 non-hdl, but pattern b with bad peak/particle sizes. 69 apolipo b and 28 lp(a)  both good. risk overall?

Hyperlipidemia: Very low risk.  These numbers are good.  I wouldn't get hung up on that one blood test result.  Keep Healthy

Won't help: A sebaceous cyst is a plugged skin structure , it usually contains an oily substance..See a doctor if the cyst is big, painful, unsightly or infected..They can be treated by removal or inscision.

Yes: The length of the luteal phase really depends upon whether or not progesterone is being produced by the ovary after ovulation. Adding progesterone as a medication after ovulation may prolong the luteal phase. However, metabolism is different for different women and the lengthening of the luteal phase may be dose related. Remember that Provera (medroxyprogesterone) is not progesterone.

Post dural HA?: Ha after a LP can be common, and may be related to a condition know as post dural puncture ha (often worsens with sitting up/standing, and improves somewhat with lying)hydration and caffeine are often used to treat this, but some cases may require an epidural blood patch(mildly invasive procedure). Let your physician know about symptoms& get formal evaluation to make sure there isn't other cause.

Diagnosis?: It is important that a proper diagnosis is made. Was a biopsy taken? Lichen planus in the erosive form can be quite uncomfortable. It can often be managed effectively with various topical cortisone-like steroids. It can: You should check LP periodically and adjust medication accordingly.  "csf is produced by the choroid plexus, the parenchyma, and the ventricular wall. These structures are capable of producing 400-600 cc's of fluid a day which is enough to completely fill the fluid spaces of the nervous system 4 times over". The CSF turns over about 3.7 times a day.

Generally, whenever there has been disruption to tissues from any cause, even a planned procedure performed correctly, there is the possibility of scar tissue. This can cause a 'bump' to be felt in the area affected, typically painless.

Pain over the spinal cord months after an LP - please get seen ASAP.

lp was dec30-jan13. dd nov6. conception calculator says feb7-13 was sex leading to conception. not possible. just curious if u/s can be off a few days?

Yes it can: When (date) and "how far along were you" (gestational age) when the US for dating was done? Ultrasounds in the second trimester can be off by as much as a week in either direction, third trimester US can be off by even more. First trimester (1st twelve weeks) should be correct +/- 3 days, I hope this helps.
