Could.: You could but not based on these lab tests. Seems pretty unlikely unless you grew up in a third world country or have an unusual diet.  Reverse t3, (liothyronine) vit d and cd 57 are not tests that spring to mind as "routine" and i don't suspect they are cheap. You need a good explanation of why they were drawn and perhaps a second opinion.

hello, i had vitamin d test 2 months ago , came out as 9 . took supplements its now 19. so i did pth also , turns out its low 12.4 (14 lab range for min ) t3,t4 normal , magnesium , calcium normal ( near max ) should i take anything for pth ?o?

: If your Calcium level is normal, then I would not worry about a low PTH. I suggest that PTH level and calcium levels be rechecked in 6 months. You should also consult a Endocrinologist for further advice.

will vitamin d deficiency cause hypothyroidism? my tsh is 18.8 ,t3 and t4 are normal. if tsh become normal can i stop thyronorm tablet?

Not related to vitaD: and the tsh shows the pituitary gland is trying very hard to keep homone levels up to normal (why the TSH is so high). Most likely thyroid medicaiton is working to maintain the thyroid hormones. Lowering the thyroid hormone and the TSH would go sky high.

Fix hypothyroidism: Hi. Take your Synthroid (thyroxine) faithfully, and get that TSH normalized. The 25-hydroxyvitamin D level of 25 doesn't really matter, since you're taking the active hormone form of vitamin D (calcitriol, aka 1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D). The glucose is normal, whether it was fasting or random. Good luck with the pregnancy!

Ca+2, Bones & Anemia: Vit d3, not d per-se, required for calcium absorption & storing in our bones. 99.9% of ca+2 in bones. Also crucial for muscle contraction, /strength, clotting, nerve conduction, etc. Low vit d3 means lower ca+2 absorption rates over time with associated problems. Rbcs with hemoglobin: the red color of blood, carry oxygen; when low (all degrees), called anemia, multiple possible reasons for low.

Unrelated: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, low vitamin D and low white cell count are likely unrelated. Vitamin D deficiency is common and you can address that by taking 5000 IU of vitamin D3 daily. For the low WBC count you need to consult your doctor.

No question it is more than just a vitamin as it has some almost hormone like effects in some body processes.The exact effects of low levels, especially for specific signs/symptoms are unclear. Some say bone pain, increased risk of infection, etc.It has been associated with increased risk of hip fracture though.2000 iu a day okay dose.

Common problem: Low vitamin d levels are much more common now than in years past.  This is likely due to less sun exposure and low vit d intake.  However it is also possible that you are malabsorbing vit d, such as from chronic diarrhea or other GI disorders.  You should take supplements and have it rechecked.  It is important for bone health.
