aside from the elevated crp of my newborn son, his cbc platelet bands is also high.  what is the treatment for this? is it something serious?

please help me because i am bothered.

At risk for bleeding: Platelets are the cells in your blood line to help your blood to clot. When they are low, you may bruise easy and it may take longer for bleeding to stop. You need to follow up with your doctor to evaluate for a cause of your low platelets.

The problem: is that the insertion of NG tube can be traumatic at times an cause bleeding with low platelets. but usually safe as low as platelet count of 40 K. but if the tube is already in low platelet count is not of any consequence

what causes low mean cell hb and high platelets? mines has been low for around 1 year, along with high platelet levels. in august my mean cell hb was 23.6 should be 27-32. and platelet was 463 should be 150-400. now my platelet level is 560 something?

: Iron deficiency can explain all of these. Iron deficiency is common in woman due to menstrual blood loss. Take oral iron and multivitamin supplements. If that does not help your doctor can arrange intravenous iron treatment.

Not always: But if low hb, low hct are associated with low platelet , the it needs to be more evalauted as the conditions could be contributed by us such as alcohol use , or conditions of the bonemarrow from defective synthesis of precursor cells -called myelodysplastic syndrome, a bm failure blood has 2 types of cellular elements-red blood, white blood and platelets and their precursors come from bone marrow.

Transient issue: Fetal o2 generally runs low levels while they extract it from mom with the placenta but it is adequate for their needs. During the transition of labor & delivery it continues to remain low ~70 & generally will not come up to regular levels (95+) for several minutes or hours after birth.Scalp abg's @ birth document stress, but are less important than babies vigor & breathing effort @ delivery.
