Nothing, because...: If nothing is going on, a person will have a normal inr, which is 0.8-1.2. The INR gets higher when a person is put on medication to become anticoagulated.

Scan/imaging: Sometimes the medication is used post operatively to prevent clotting as the patient is on bed rest. Please discuss with the physician, and also discuss the causes of the low oxygen levels and chest imaging. A V/Q scan and CT may be ordered.

a link between heparin and the suppression of aldosterone levels. a patient is given 5 doses of 5000 units and  treatment dose of 12.500 units,  only has one adrenal gland  and then becomes severely unwell could it be low aldosterone levels ?

Possibly: Heparin has been known to lower blood pressure and raising serum potassium from reducing aldosterone levels. Causing thombocytopenia(low platelets) with associated bleeding of vulnerable areas in the body also will lead to weakness. However having used heparin for very many years, I causing problems from low aldosterone levels must be a rare problem  as most patients will compensate

It depends on...: It depends on the way it was given. regular heparin is given IV and has a short stay in blood. When these are given under the skin(SubQ), they are present int he body for 24 to 48 hours.

Not much: Heparin needs to be injected to be effective, under the skin or in a vein.  That being said, wash it off quickly if it happens again!
