If an elderly patient has mens2a / has had a adrenalectomy because of an phaechromocytoma is it appropiate to administer heparin before confirmation of pe and with the possibility of pneumonia. the only basis being low oxygen levels ?

Scan/imaging: Sometimes the medication is used post operatively to prevent clotting as the patient is on bed rest. Please discuss with the physician, and also discuss the causes of the low oxygen levels and chest imaging. A V/Q scan and CT may be ordered.
