Low iron: If the MCHC level is below 28%, this is considered too low. The MCHC level can be too low because of blood loss over time, or too little iron in the body.

Big picture : Small red cells with too little hemoglobin usually mean iron deficiency which should prompt a search for bleeding. There are some other possible causes.

Maybe: Reference ranges are set so that a few percent of healthies fall outside. However, an anemia (low Hgb) is ALWAYS worth investigating. Your physician will guide you here. Don't be concerned with a slightly low absolute monocyte count.

Stop worrying: As a pathologist / lab physician, i often wish we didn't even have to report percentages -- they mean nothing apart from absolute values, and even these fluctuate chaotically / meaninglessly. Reference ranges are set so that several % of healthies fall outside; low RDW never means anything and the MCHC looks fine to me. Go enjoy your healthy body ; pay attention to how you feel, not numbers.

Thalassemia minor?: With normal packed cell volume, high red cell count, low MCV, I'd consider you may have thalassemia minor. This is good to know because if you marry someone else who has this, the children may have the very serious thalassemia major. Talk with your physician about this and what he/she thinks is actually going on.

i have a couple of 6mm lymp nodes and my mchc came back low on my blood test. does one have to do with the other? i also had thyroid cancer last year.

Cannot say: cannot say in your particular case, but generally, 6mm lymph nodes are not necessarily significant. MCHC low implies low iron, but can be wtih a chronic disease (active or recovering from cancer, among many many others).
BUt could also theoretically be the beginning of a return of the cancer.

: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Talk to the doctor who ordered the tests. Having said that, you may have iron deficiency and should take iron and vitamin supplements. Monocyte per se is not a cause for concern.    Wish you good health!

Need more info: How much do you weigh? What is your waist circumference? The data you provided suggests Metabolic syndrome and does not exclude diabetes. You need to get fasting blood sugar and/or A1c levels done. 
In any case lose 5-10% body weight and exercise at least 30 minutes each day.

: Anemia means low red blood cell numbers and related results like hematocrit and hemoglobin, and those results are normal. Therefore, by definition, you do not have anemia. Possibly your iron levels are a bit low, the most common cause of anemia in women.  B12 deficiency is unlikely, but these results don't directly measure B12 or its main effects on blood counts. Discuss with your doctor.
