Accepted Answer

High heels : Place pressure on the knees and are not good. On the other hand flat shoes aren't great either.....Look for a happy medium.

low back pain x 5 weeks. pain when turning over in bed and when first sitting up in the morning. once up it gets about 80% better. started after wearing heeled shoes and standing for 3 hours in them. (normally wear flats). what could it be?

: This low back discomfort may be a strain or due to osteoarthritis of the spine. The latter may be worse in the morning &amp; improves after being up and around as opposed to entities like spinal stenosis or compression fracture of a vertebra. a table fell on my foot sunday swelling started monday the er gave me a shoe and crutches now im having a low grade temp and blood pressure issues what do i need to do?

my left ankle has been swelling for the last month. i have noticed in the past 2 weeks my low calf has now swollen. my left  foot is starting to not fit in my shoes. i was given a prescription of prednisone, but the swelling has gotten worse.

Accepted Answer

Listen to your feet: High heels shift the forces to front part of the foot and with prolonged use can lead to foot problems in some. But many still  use them intermittently or even regularly and seem to cope well.

heels hurt at night? can shoes cause tunnel syndrome?

Accepted Answer

Something else?: Your heel may be hurting because of plantar fasciitis- an inflammation of the tissue that forms the arch of the foot. If so your heel will be exquisitely tender if you press on the sole of your foot where the arch comes off the heel. If so, a specialized sock that keeps the arch stretched at night can be helpful.

any way to get taller without wearing high heeled shoes?

Accepted Answer

Unfortunately not: There are limb-lengthening surgeries that can lengthen your leg bones but i could not recommend that to anyone.  There is prolonged pain, disability, high financial cost and significant medical risks. And for what? A couple of inches.  Sticking with higher heel shoes, inshoe lifts are much safer.

are new sketcher's training shoes just as dangerous as wearing high heels or platforms?

Accepted Answer

Yes: If you are pregnant, your center of gravity changes rapidly, especially in the thrid trimester.  This can make it very difficuly to maintain your balance, even in a sturdy pair of shoes.  Any shoes such as heels and training shoes can add extra difficulty to maintaining your balance and put you at increased risk for falls, which can be very dangerous for the baby.

have overpronation & narrow heels of feet. how can tell if shoe heels are too wide if they feel comfortable but slip up & down a bit.

Accepted Answer

The laces...: Your shoes can be too wide if when you tie your shoes, there is no gap between the eyes. Narrow heels are a tough battle. If your shoe slips, try using a heel grip which is a adhesive rubber pad that goes inside of the heel to take up space, or even a tongue pad.

4 weeks after metatarsal break i am in tennis shoe & another 4 weeks in a "regular shoe." will i have to wear flat shoes for life? i like high heels.

Well when all is....: ...healed, U just give it a shot. start with 1" than2" and proceed upwards Ur foot will tell U enough is enough, when U hit a height limit. don't start out with 4" heels, U need 2 allow Ur foot 2 adjust 2 each height, so wear then 2-3 weeks, if ok step up. it is possible U won't B able 2, but only trying with a slow progression will tell.
