No so healthy: Regardless of what you are eating, excess calories leads to weight gain. If you eat low calorie but largely junk sugar diet, you may not be gaining weight but you are also not giving your body optimum nutrition.

Because........: Low fat diets are by definition low calorie, since fat as 9 kcal per gram, compared with 4 for protein and carbs.  Low carb diets benefits people who put weight on the middle by improving weight, controlling lipids, etc. Apples-low carb! pears-low fat!

See below: Calories are the measure of energy in any food or drink.  Our body then uses this energy to keep us alive, but  an excess of calories leads to an excess of energy which we store as fat. A low fat diet reduces the amount of fats, such as animal fats or oils in the diet.  Since fats and oils have lots of calories, they are often low calorie.  A low-cal die  has less calories from any source.

Go online and look at the several options for good diet control. My preference is "NuVal" but the others are good.

Different terms: Al food is a combination of carbohydrate, protein or fat low carb means a diet low in carbohydrates; low fat is one restricted in fats. Low calories just means reducing your caloric intake. Protein and carbs have 4 calories/gram. Fat has 9; alcohol has 7. It takes 3500 calories to gain or lose a pound. The terms "low" are "restricted" are relative and differ from one person to the next.
