Daily loose stools: Causes of daily loose stools include irritable bowel syndrome (usually associated with stress), lactose intolerance, or severe constipation (in which new food from the stomach comes to your colon as a liquid, has no place to go, and so leaks around the huge mass of constipated stool. This is surprisingly common and is sugggested if you have any past history of constipation.

Possibly: Not sure how long you have been treated with Metronidazole but if this persists after a week or so you may need stool cultures. Many strains of c diff are becoming resistant to traditional antibiotics.

Loose stool: Hi, although ur loose stool could be completely a benign condition due to Lactose sensitivity, change in diet, etc but definitely an infection should be ruled out, a sample of ur stool should be sent for evaluation to lab to look for Parasite, Bacteria and worms, see ur MD.

Need to examine: Drinking more water would not cause diarrhea. The two events are likely coincidental. If you have had unintended weight loss, it is imperative that you consult a physician. 
Wish you good health! - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. 
Get HPV vaccine, if you are under 27 years of age.

took magnesium glycinate 200mg per day from 2/7 - 2/10; on 2/11 increased dose to 400mg per day. on 2/13, started to have loose stools every morning. stopped the supplement on 2/16. still having loose stools, when will the loose stool stop?

Loose stools: Since the diarrhea seems to be a side effect of magnesium, it should subside in a day or two. In the meantime avoid harsh roughage and take kaopectate or Imodium as needed.

Take fluids such as pedialyte and see a doctor who will most likely prescribe you some antibiotics

Probably not: Cause of mucus in stool usually secondary to an inflammatory process such as colitis. This could also  causes loose   stools.  Most Ca's are asymptomatic when small.  As they get larger they obstruct , bleed and occasionally perforate.  Colonoscopy can easily define problem.
