Cardiac: There is some evidence that hydroxyzine may not be food for the cardiovascular system but the incidence is very low. Overall , it is still a very safe drug.  On the other hand, what is the reason for her to be on this medication.   Perhaps after 10 years , it may be worthwhile to try stopping the drug and see if she still needs it.

is it safe to take hydroxyzine pamoate (vistaril), naproxen (aleve) and bupropion (wellbutrin) at the same time? are there short term and long term effects?

Accepted Answer

: In the short term a combination of Hydroxyzine and Naproxen  and wellbutrin will not result in any significant side effects. However you need to be careful if you intend ti use it for prolonged periods then there is an additive effect between Hydroxyzine and Wellbutrin. Both medication have sedative effect and result in sleep. That's when its combined use needs to carefully evaluated.

No: Even though it is an effective sedative, hypnotic, analgesic, and tranquilizer, it shares almost none of the abuse, dependence, addiction, and toxicity potential of other drugs used for the same range of therapeutic reasons.

Not so much: If you're looking for a medication to slow your machinery down, don't self-medicate with something that can be a troublesome as "atarax" / hydroxyzine. Your physician might offer a very low dose of a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor. Especially, work with your partner on "edging" and on the "squeeze technique" -- you'll reprogram yourself and bring each other to new heights. Best wishes.

See below: 1. Yes, it can be prescribed for anxiety, particularly the pamoate form of it.
2. It is not really possible to compare it strength-wise to benzos, as they are completely different drug classes.  It is a good idea to try Hydroxyzine first, as it is not addicting like benzos are, and actually works well for a lot of people.
3. As i said above, it is not addicting, so generally safe for long-term use.

Atarax: Atarax is basically an antihistamine used to treat various allergic  problems. It would not be considered a sleep aid and one 10 mg tablet at bedtime is a very mild dose in any event. A possible side effect of atarax would be relaxation,however.

Yes, but: Hydroxyzine has very little usefulness for Anxiety in the long term.  It is primarily an allergy medicine.   It is usually prescribed for short term use--and not at all recommended for Anxiety, but it has a following of folks who use it.   Best to look into some therapy and working on your anxiety rather than relying on a phenothiazine and anti-histamine for your issues. Best to solve your issues.

suffering with long term anxiety(panic) and headaches. is it safe to take hydroxyzine and fiorcet a few hours from each other?

Accepted Answer

: Depending on dose and frequency, there could be additive adverse effects of drowsiness and dizziness, and would not drive  or use power equipment after taking either.
