Acne creams: Never heard of fair and teen cream but look at the active ingredients.  Most acne OTC creams have either benzo peroxide or salicylic acid as their active ingredients and if you cream has either, sure it can be effective.  If not, I doubt it would be effective.

Acne: Natural treatments don't have much value, although there are many folks who'd like you to believe in their salves, creams, lotions, and potions. Unfortunately, your desire to avoid medications and other creams and salves kinds of limits options. Practice good skin hygiene, don't overdo cleansing or washing, and maybe reconsider your "natural" choices.

An astringent: An astringent or retin a (tretinoin) might help for smaller pores. A  very large pore can be removed surgically in an office procedure.

Dry skin: Dry skin has to be treated with skin moisturisers even if you have pimples.Having said that, some of the treatments used for treatment of pimples can make skin dry and you need to use moisturisers  along with that as well.

Second opinion: I routinely recommend discontinuing ineffective treatment.  If you are having trouble with discontinuing and have underlying skin issues that could benefit from another cream, then a trusted dermatologist should be able to help.  If you need a referral, ask people you know for the name of a dermatologist who will spend the time to discuss and explain their diagnosis/treatment/outcome expected.

i have seriously bad skin at the moment, and they don't seem to be all pimples, one looks like a small cyst almost, it's been there over a week. i'm washing my face 2x times a day plus a spot cream 2x a day. it's not even forming like a pimple?

Cystic acne: This isn't too uncommon. Some acne form nodules, they are harder and deeper cysts that can take a long time to resolve. If it gets bigger and you think it might be something other than a kind of zit then you should get it examined. Though I suspect that in time it will go down, tough it might take a few months.
