? Fatty liver: I assume your enlarged liver is due to what is called Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and that is the reason probably ursodeoxycholic acid prescribed. More recent data suggest that this medicine has little or no impact in improving liver fat and inflammation. However, it has very few side-effects. If you do have fatty liver causing enlarged liver, the best treatment is diet and exercise.

Hepatomegaly: Only 16 percent of the population has a liver span greater than 16cm on ultrasound at the mid-clavicular line. This type of enlarged liver definitely warrants further work up closely with your primary care doctor, gastroenterologist, or a liver specialist.

Liver: span of  15.5cm may suggest  hepatomegaly.  Though LFT is normal. More evaluation is needed to determine the etiology of the hepatomegaly. The color of your stool probably may not be a concern

Fatty liver: Lose weight if overweight, cut out alcohol if using; cut out simple sugars, starches, decrease fat in diet.  Get followed up. Sometimes, fatty liver leads to chronic inflammation, even scarring in the liver. Check meds with doc. Can be reversible, but needs diligence and follow up.

Liver: The increased echogenicity is consistent with fatty infiltration of the liver with sparing of some parts of the liver.  Your liver size is less than 16 cm and is normal. Increased echogenicity of the liver is not a usual finding in active hepatitis. A gastroenterologist or hepatologist is best qualified to answer your question,however.

Yes and No: It's what a patient eats, and not the label on his type of diet, that matters. Fatty liver worsens with the eating of sugars and simple carbs. Sugars and simple carbs are usually vegan (not of animal origin). Thus, a vegan will want to eat non-animal food items that are low in sugars and low in simple carbohydrates.
