Malabsorption: I understand your question to say that most of the time your stool floats, sometimes it doesn't.  Certainly noticing that occasionally your stool floats is normal, but malabsorption should be considered if floating is the usual case. Tests for lactose intolerance and other forms of malabsorption (poor absorption of nutrients in the intestine) should be pursued.  Good luck!

: No drug is "safe" 100% of the time. So you need to discuss with your Dr your situation and the risks and benefits to you and then you can make an informed decision. I would also look at Drugs.com for side effects reported in placebo controlled trials in folks like you. They will have published the side effects in those on vs those not on the medicine.

Tylenol (acetaminophen): According to the fda it was no more than 4gm per day. The american pain society suggests no more than 2.5gm per day. The fda has lowered the daily maximum to 2.5gm per day.  Enzymes do not need to be checked at all unless you have had hepatitis, drink alcohol, use illicit chemicals , smoke, etc...

Synthetic activity: In addition to the usual liver function tests, tests of synthetic functions of liver cells include blood levels of pre-albumin, coagulation factors and INR, and blood ammonia. Catalytic functions are reflected in blood levels of immunoglobulins. There are also specific tests for individual diseases, e.g. serum ceruloplasmin, alpha-1-antitrypsin, and genetic markers.

Sleep first : First make sure you are sleeping 71/2 to 8 hours a night and that you awake refreshed. It is amazing how many people come in with fatigue as a problem and are only sleeping 6 hours a night. If you are then see your doctor as there are hundreds of conditions that will make you feel exhausted.

My workup: Hepatitis B and C labs. Serum ferritin. Urinary copper for Wilson's. Anti-nuclear antibodies. Ultrasound to look for fat. Consider biopsy if it's now down. In the meantime, think about hitting the fitness circuit really hard and seeing what happens. Best wishes.

Imaging: Labs are important, but imaging such as ultrasound can also be helpful to evaluate the liver.

went 2 dr. didn't retest uti(for 3wks) shoved meds at me. took blood 2 check liver and gallbladder. sending me to gyn. he was confused what's going on?

See Dr.: You have diarrhea, nausea, UTI. The information is insufficient to make a diagnosis. The doctor must have a reason for checking gall bladder(maybe pain in right side). It sounds like poor rapport between you and doctor. Go to the GYN anyway. Hopefully will be better rappport. Hope you feel better soon.
